Al & Chris Hanna Eagle Scholarship Program
The Al & Chris Hanna Eagle Scout Scholarship Program has been established to offer Samoset Council, BSA Eagle Scouts and Venturers with an opportunity to secure funding for their higher educational goals. Mr. & Mrs. Hanna have generously established this program in cooperation with Samoset Council and the National BSA Foundation.
Accordingly, this funding is restricted to support the costs of tuition and institutional educational costs. Therefore, you now have the unique opportunity as a Samoset Council, Eagle Scout, Quartermaster Awardee and/or the Venturing Silver Awardee to apply for this funding for your future college or other advanced educational program.
The application and the attachments are due on January 31 of each year at the Scout Office. Once we have received all of the applications, a Volunteer Selection Committee will proceed to review all of the applications and make their decision for awarding of Scholarships with awards typically of $1,000.
The funds generated from this endowment vary each year depending on the financial markets and the interest that is earned. We express our great appreciation to Al & Chris Hanna for their dedication to Scouting and the youth of Samoset Council!
