Winter Gear

When packing for Winter Camp, consider protection for each part of the body.

Hanna Winter Resort Personal Gear

- A copy of the original Health History/Parental Permission form for every camper to stay at camp
- 2 winter stocking caps - one spare, facemask type is best
- 2-3 pairs of mittens with outer shell (mittens are warmer than gloves)
- 2-3 sweaters/sweatshirts, preferably wool or polar fleece instead of cotton
- 1 winter jacket, preferably parka-style and hooded
- 1-2 pairs of long underwear (synthetic such as capilene or polypropylene)
- 2 pairs of pants, 1 pair preferably wool or an insulated snow pant - Absolutely NO Jeans!
- 2+ pairs of heavy insulated socks, preferably wool or synthetic instead of cotton
- 2+ pairs of light liner socks (synthetic such as polypropylene)
- Toiletries (e.g. toothbrush and paste, soap, towel)
- Scout Handbook if taking Project Tenderfoot
- Sleeping bag, if you have a winter-rated bag
- Insulated vest
- Extra socks
- 1-2 pair of warm winter boots
- Pocketknife, matches, bandana, other camping gear
- Chapstick
- Flashlight
- Camera
