Tom Kita Chara

Tom Kita Chara Lodge 96, Order of the Arrow, welcomes you to TKC's online council ring. Founded in 1936, Tom Kita Chara Lodge is affiliated with Samoset Council and serves over 700 arrowmen in north-central Wisconsin.

The purpose of the Order of the Arrow is fourfold:

  • To recognize those Scout campers who best exemplify the Scout Oath and Law in their daily lives and by such recognition cause other campers to conduct themselves in such a manner as to warrant recognition
  • To develop and maintain camping traditions and spirit
  • To promote Scout camping, which reaches its greatest effectiveness as a part of the unit's camping program, both year-round and in the summer camp, as directed by the local council's camping committee
  • To crystallize the Scout habit of helpfulness into a life purpose of leadership in cheerful service to others

Lodge Goals 2009 - 2010

  • Earn Quality Lodge 2009
    • Fill out quality lodge petition by Dec. 1st 2009
  • Strategic Plan Editing
    • Update 2009-2010 portion of the plan
    • Add to strategic plan for year four and five
    • Complete edited 2009-2010 strategic plan
  • Merchandise ordered by January 31st 2010
    • Start merchandise discussion at Oct. 2009 meeting
    • Discuss ideas until acceptable list of merchandise is created
    • Finalized list will be created at Dec. 2009 LEC Meeting
    • Order merchandise by Jan. 31st 2010
  • TKC1
    • Work with service chair to locate a project by the end of Oct. 2009
    • Have set date for event by end of Dec. 2009
    • Advertise TKC1
      • Show presentation at Winter Banquet
      • Put article in ITA
      • Send out mass email
      • Advertise on TKC website
    • Have at least 100 arrowmen in attendance
    • Keep detailed report of event for future reference
  • Address Dues
    • Talk about how dues are distributed by Nov. 2009 LEC Meeting
    • Create presentation for Winter Banquet
  • Promotion for Cub Scout Program
    • Get groups together in each chapter to go to packs to promote Akela’s World by Nov. 2009 LEC Meeting
    • Create a presentation for groups by end of Dec. 2009
    • Go to all packs and give presentation by end of March 2010
    • Keep a detailed report of event for future reference
  • Internet usage
    • Each chapter and committee must keep an updated portion of the TKC web site
      • Have an updated calendar
      • List of events and future meetings
      • A short description of each respective position and a what they are working
      • Up-to-date and useful information on site
    • Regular updates
      • Must be updated every two weeks
      • If no updates notify respective people of no needed changes
