Tom Kita Chara Lodge 96, Order of the Arrow, welcomes you to TKC's online council ring.
Tom Kita Chara Lodge, founded in 1936, is affiliated with Samoset Council #627 and serves over 700 arrowmen in North-Central Wisconsin.
The Order of the Arrow is Scouting's National Honor Society. The purpose of the Order of the Arrow is fourfold:
- To recognize those Scout campers who best exemplify the Scout Oath and Law in their daily lives
- To develop and maintain camping traditions and spirit
- To promote Scout camping
- To crystallize the Scout habit of helpfulness into a life purpose of leadership in cheerful service to others

Lodge Goals 2007-2008
SERVICE EXTENSION
- By meeting with the Samoset Council Scout Executive to find out how Tom Kita Chara can better serve and support Samoset Council.
- A lodge-wide service project for the fulfillment of regional One Day of Service requirements will be planned and executed. Increasing our visibility as Scouting’s National Honor Society in our communities.
- By providing and encouraging the development local service projects through the chapters, and establishing a list of possible service projects and service organizations throughout the lodge.
PROGRAM ENHANCEMENT
- Make improvements to the Tom Kita Chara Lodge website it hopes that it will attract new faces at Lodge events and interest people to get involved with Tom Kita Chara Lodge.
- Quality year-end reports complete with schedules, deadlines, procedures, and steering goals for each position will be presented to the Lodge Chief by the May meeting of the Executive Committee.
- Implement year one of the Tom Kita Chara Lodge Strategic Plan developed at the 2007 National Conservation and Leadership Summit in hopes that it will create an overall lodge program enhancement and create a vision for the lodge’s future.
LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
- Expansion of the Lodge Leadership Development Program at the lodge level by implementing regular training for the Lodge Executive Committee.
CAMPING PROMOTION
- Continue the promotion of camping at troop/team elections, and improve the process by providing the chapter elections chairs with applicable camp information.
- Improve Tom Kita Chara’s visibility on the Cub Scout level by helping at Cub Scout events and by making the Webelo to Boy Scout transition easier.
INDUCTION ENRICHMENT
- By conducting a reviewing of current lodge induction policies, expanding ceremonial regalia, and making positive changes while preserving lodge tradition.
- 40% of eligible Arrowmen will be inducted into the Brotherhood as emphasis is placed upon Brotherhood membership as a sealing of one’s Ordeal promises.
