Cooking in Scouting

Please come out and join us for a weekend of camping and cooking activities

Tentative Activities include the following:

• Dutch Oven 101 – Setup, Handling and Clean up
• Food Safety and Prep for campsite and trail meals
• Types of cooking methods you can use on an outing
• Fire starting and setup for camp meal prep
• Leave No Trace/Outdoor Ethics
• Military food prep and dining experience
• Mystery Dessert contest  (more info to come)
• Patch Design Contest – Scouts will submit and vote.
• Smoked pork will be provided for Dinner meal – Patrols will be asked to prepare a favorite side to share
• Evening Cracker Barrel and fire with skits on Saturday evening.

Site info:

• Tri Norse will have a lodge open with 2 bathrooms
• There is no electricity on site for the camp sites.
• We will not be engaging in activities on the Ski hills.   These will be off limits.
• Site has hiking trails that can be used as time permits.
