PROGRAM
Boy Scouting
For Boys 11-17 Years Old
Boy Scouting is a program of fun outdoor activities, peer group leadership opportunities and a personal exploration of career, hobby and special interests, all designed to achieve the BSA’s objectives of strengthening character, personal fitness and good citizenship.
Our Summer Camps provide a week-long resident experience where a boy can learn skills that he may carry for the rest of his life. While not involved in Summer Camp, boys have the opportunity, within their Troop, to participate in a year round calendar of camping, hiking, canoeing, and other fun actvities. Each Troop's calendar is created and maintained by the boys involved.
Advancement
Boy Scouting provides a series of surmountable obstacles and steps in overcoming them through the advancement method. The Boy Scout plans his advancement and progresses at his own pace as he meets each challenge.
The Boy Scout is rewarded for each achievement, which helps him gain self-confidence. The steps in the advancement system help a Boy Scout grow in self-reliance and in the ability to help others.
