Tom Kita Chara

Tom Kita Chara Lodge 96, Order of the Arrow, welcomes you to TKC's online council ring. Founded in 1936, Tom Kita Chara Lodge is affiliated with Samoset Council and serves over 700 arrowmen in north-central Wisconsin.

The purpose of the Order of the Arrow is fourfold:

  • To recognize those Scout campers who best exemplify the Scout Oath and Law in their daily lives and by such recognition cause other campers to conduct themselves in such a manner as to warrant recognition
  • To develop and maintain camping traditions and spirit
  • To promote Scout camping, which reaches its greatest effectiveness as a part of the unit's camping program, both year-round and in the summer camp, as directed by the local council's camping committee
  • To crystallize the Scout habit of helpfulness into a life purpose of leadership in cheerful service to others

Chiefly Speaking

Dear Brother in the Order,

Is Tom Kita Chara Lodge the best in the nation?  According to the numbers on paper we might not be number one, but according to me, we are. Is there any lodge that I would rather be the Lodge Chief for? Absolutely not!  We are and will always be the number one lodge in the nation through my eyes.  I am humbled to be the leader of such a great lodge filled with so many dedicated and involved arrowmen such as yourself.  The reason why TKC is such a remarkable lodge is because of the pride that we all show.  We are all proud to be arrowmen, and we show the 100% TKC attitude for the Fightin’ 96.  This pride is what binds us together and creates an atmosphere that allows for countless hours of cheerful service.

This lodge is heading in a great direction:  onward and upward.  This next Lodge year is already under way and is a guaranteed good time.  With many great activities  being planned, there is sure to be fun for all.  This year has a few special events.  First there is a national event called National Order of the Arrow Conference (NOAC) at Michigan State University on July 30th through August 4th, 2012.  We will be distributing more information as it becomes available about cost and transportation.  We would like to be able to fill our allotted number of participants and request permission to bring more.  NOAC is filled with training, fun, and fellowship.  NOAC is similar to the National Scout Jamboree in many ways, however it is solely for arrowmen.  This year TKC also is the host for the Section C-1B Conclave.  We will need lots of arrowmen to help run the conclave and be in attendance to show the other five lodges in the section that TKC is truly the best lodge out there.  The last time that we hosted a conclave we set the record for number of attendees, and I would love to do it again.  The dates for Section Conclave will be September 14th through 16th, 2011.  I look forward to seeing you there.

TKC may be the best, but in order to remain a top-tier lodge we need your involvement.  I encourage you find a way to attend events and encourage all of your fellow brothers to attend as well.  I also ask that you pay your dues, if you haven’t already. This allows you to receive our “Into the Air” newsletter to continue to be updated on all lodge affairs.  This year we will be returning to a printed version of the “Into the Air,” which will be mailed to all dues-paid TKC members. If you have any questions please feel free to contact us at .  Any questions that you have will be directed to the proper individual.

Thank you for being a member of the Fightin’ 96, and  for supporting this Lodge.
