Each year the Boy Scouts of America partners with local food pantries to provide much needed food to the less fortunate. According to the US Government nearly 47 million Americans live in poverty. One in seven households struggle to feed their family. The need has never been greater.

Samoset Scouts spend two weekends canvasing their neighborhoods collecting bags of food from the community to help fill the shelves of the local food pantries. Samoset Council partners with over 50 food pantries in 13 Counties and collects 60 tons of food annually. This project helps fill a tremendous need in the community and teaches young people the importance of giving back to their community. We encourage everyone to get involved with this important project, April 6th and April 13th, 2019.

Suggested Nonperishable Items: Soup, dry pasta, dry mixes, canned foods, boxed food, flour and sugar.

Remember that you are helping the families of your community who need it the most.
