Evening Programs

Space Invaders Training, 7:45-9:00, Main camp:

Be careful Space Scouts! The invasion is coming. Fortunately your guides have organized a rigorous training to prepare you. As you move from station to station you can excel through the ranks and become the Ultimate Defense against the Alien Attackers!

Campwide Picnic, 6:30-7:15, Main Camp:

Enjoy an evening meal outside among your friends and fellow staff members. Afterwards, staff will come to your densite for a campfire fest which will feature songs, skits, and a special snack.

Starhike, 9:30-10:30, Flagpole:

Join us for a look at the night sky to learn about stars, galaxies, and the milky way. Also, earn your astronomy belt loop.

Sun-Chip Search, 7:45-9:00, Main Camp:

Information regarding the Sun-Chip has surfaced. Dens will have to follow a series of clues and paths and if they move fast enough they may uncover its secret location. With the Sun-Chip found the Solar Cruiser may be able to fly once more.

Closing Campfire, 7:45-8:30, Lost Ship:

Following dinner, sit back and watch the staff put on hilarious skits and songs.

Advancement

During each camp session, there will be opportunities for advancement. Scouts can choose from a variety of advancements below. Check the schedule to see what we offer in your session. Staff members will lead scouts in learning with a twist of fun.

Advancement Signup

Signup for advancement online (see online registration guide) or during check-in at camp. Selections are to be made no later than the leaders meeting immediately following your first dinner at camp to allow staff time to prepare materials.

All Scouts

  • Archery Belt Loop – An introduction to Archery. Learn about shooting and how to be safe.
  • Astronomy Belt Loop – Explore the world of stars and planets. Learn about telescopes and what can be seen with them.
  • BB Shooting Belt Loop – An introduction to safety rules and how to shoot.
  • Fishing Belt Loop – Learn to bait a hook and give fishing a try. Also learn regulations & safety.
  • Geology Belt Loop & Pin - Igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic. Rocks you say? What are they and how are they made? Make a pet rock too.
  • Leave No Trace - Leave No Trace is a plan that helps people to be more concerned about their environment and to help them protect it for future generations. Begin earning your Leave No Trace Awareness Award.
  • Map and Compass Belt Loop & Pin – All the ins and outs of finding your way with a map and compass. Learn about reading a map and what the signs mean. Learn how to make your own compass from a magnet and pin.
  • Soccer Belt Loop – All the skills and rules and time to play a game too.
  • Swimming Belt Loop – Learn about swimming safely and using the buddy system. Play a water game with other Scouts.
  • Whittling Chip – Learn what is takes to be safe with a pocketknife. Completion allows Scout to use and carry a pocketknife at approved Cub Scout events.
  • Wildlife Conservation Belt Loop - natural resources, food chains and endangered species. Make a plaster cast of an animal track too.

Wolf

  • Wolf # Elective 17, Tie it Right – overhand, square, shoelaces, packages and neckties too.

Bear

  • Bear Achievement # 22, Tying it All Up – Cub Scout knots, throwing, coiling and a rope trick

Webelos

  • Aquanaut Activity Badge – swimming, diving, rescues and PFDs too. Lots of water fun.
  • Forester Activity Badge – Trees, animals, plants and forests. How does a forest function?
  • Geologist Activity Badge – All about Rocks, fossils, minerals, volcanoes and earthquakes
  • Naturalist Activity Badge – animals, insects, birds and reptiles.
  • Outdoorsman Activity Badge – Camping, conservation, hiking and setting up a tent.
  • Readyman Activity Badge – All the first aid to cover you in an emergency.

Scouts may not be able to complete all the requirements at camp. A report of what each Scout completes will be available upon checkout.
