LEADERS’ ROUNDTABLES

Are you wondering where you can get the latest news about district and council activities? Do you wish for the opportunity to meet with other leaders for new ideas to incorporate into your meetings? Come to our Monthly Roundtable Meetings! Roundtable meetings are held the first Thursday of the month from September through June at 7:00 PM at locations throughout the district. See the upcoming schedule below.

November 6th – United Methodist Church in Wisconsin Rapids, hosted by Pack & Troop 171
December 4th – Woodside Elementary in Wisconsin Rapids hosted by Pack 178 & Troop 187
January 8th – St. Vincent’s School in Wisconsin Rapids hosted by Pack 110 & Troop 111

CUB SCOUT SIGN-UP

Great job packs bringing in 100 new cubs into our District throughout the month of September! It is so exciting to see so many boys sign up to participate in a program that makes a difference. Remember it’s never too late to sign a boy up for Cub Scouts! Recruiting is a year round endeavor. Try having your pack wear their uniforms to school on the day of your pack meetings, or have your Cubs hand out “My Best Friend is a Cub Scout” invitations to their friends in school. Put a yard sign out in your yard, or reward your cubs for inviting a friend to the next big event. Invite kids to attend our District Skating Parting on the 9th of December. These are just a few of many ways to recruit new cubs in to Cub Scouts! Check out the Race to Cub Scouting Office Tool Kit for Packs for more recruiting ideas. Every boy deserves to be in Scouting. Let’s see that we can get them in the program! If you have not yet received this tool kit or need yard signs, please contact Rachel Caldwell at (715)581-6316.

POPCORN

Great job Ahdawagam in your popcorn sales this year! The finish line is almost in sight, so hang in there! Popcorn sorting will be at 4:00 PM, November 14th and popcorn pickup will be at 9:00 AM, November 15th at NewPage Support Services on Dora Beauty Lane in Wisconsin Rapids. Those units that help sort can take their popcorn with them on the 14th. Special thanks go to our District Popcorn Kernel, Deb Anderson, to all of our unit popcorn kernels, and to Mike Klement and his NewPage crew for all of their hard work in making this a successful popcorn season. The results of the sale and our district top sellers will be published in the February issue of this publication.

DISTRICT SKATING PARTY

This year’s district skating party will be held at Skate City on December 9th from 6:30 – 9:00 PM. The cost will be $6.00 per person to cover skating, skate rental, soda and pizza. Invite a friend! Last year Ahdawagam had over 200 skaters. This will be a great opportunity to recruit more kids into your units. If your son brings a friend to the event and the friend signs up to be a Scout, your son will receive the Centennial Recruiter Patch! In addition, registration will be free for all new Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts who sign up at the event!

TIGER CUBANNAPOLIS!

Calling all Tigers! November 22nd will be our all new district Box Car Races at the Immanuel Lutheran School Gym. Each Tiger Cub participating will design and decorate a Cubannapolis cardboard car. They will also have a pit crew consisting of at least two members who can consist of moms, dads, siblings, or anyone else they’d like! The event will consist of 4 heats. First, the boy will have his “windshield” cleaned in the pit. Second, he will receive “fuel”. Third, he will get his “tires” changed, and the fourth will be to the finish line! For more details or information, contact Brooke Porter at 715-570-3191.

DISTRICT DAY AT THE RACES!
