If you are a new leader in Cub Scouting, here are some key resources that you should review so that you can get your den or pack up and running, right from the start. The staff at the council office are avaialble to help, so do not hesitate to contact them at 800-303-2195.

These brochures provide an at-a-glance orientation for new Cub Scout leaders.
Leader Resources
- Welcome New Leader - This brochure provides an overview of the Cub Scout program, including details on the "Three Steps to Success" for your first month of Cub Scouting.
- Program Ideas for Your First Month of Den Meetings - If there are any new boys in your Wolf, Bear, or Webelos den, use these program ideas to help them earn their Bobcat badge, which every boy in Cub Scouting must complete.
- Program Helps - Perhaps the most essential document for new den leaders, this is their recipe book for den activity. The online edition covers all types of den plans. These are available in a bound edition, for an entire year of program, through our Scout office.
- Leader's Library - an overview of some of the key publications for Cub Scout leaders. All of these items, and many others, are available to you at the council service center.
- Insignia Guide - This insignia guide presents detailed information to enable our members to wear the correct complete uniform on all suitable occasions.

Advancement Resources
- Advancement Trail - Cub Scouts advance in rank from Tiger Cub to Wolf, to Bear, to Webelos Scout. Explore the Advancement Trail.
- Academics and Sports Program - Cub Scouts have fun with subjects and sports from Art and Astronomy to Ultimate and Volleyball.
- Other Awards You Can Earn - Besides the advancement awards, Cub Scouts can earn awards for taking part in outdoor activities, doing conservation projects, being prepared for emergencies, and other things.
